CERT Training
Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is about people helping people, rescuer safety, and doing the most good for the greatest number. CERT is a positive and realistic approach to emergency and disaster situations where citizens may be initially on their own and their actions can make a difference.
The 20 hour CERT Training program is provided free of charge and includes:
- disaster preparedness
- fire suppression
- team organization
- terrorism
- light urban search and rescue
- medical principles and treatment
- disaster psychology
People who have already participated in a CERT class should consider CERT Training as an opportunity to begin building a CERT Team in their neighborhood and/or workplace by encouraging family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers to sign up for a CERT class. If you have not taken a CERT class before, talk a friend, neighbor, or co-worker into taking a class with you.
Download a Training Application and Brochure.
Completed applications should be returned to the Aurora Emergency Management Office by mail or fax.
