Garbage Collection Days Changing For 2 Neighborhoods
Garbage collection days will be changing for two neighborhoods on Aurora’s Far East side starting the week of July 2.
The area bounded by Eola Road on the west, McCoy Drive on the south, Commons Drive on the east and New York Street on the north is switching from Thursday to Friday pickup. Other streets impacted by the change are located just north of the Westfield Fox Valley Mall including Station Boulevard, Plaza Place, Central Park Lane, Gabrielle Lane, Grosvenor Lane, Bradbury Circle and Kentshire Circle.
Switching from Thursday to Wednesday, will be residents living in the area bounded by Eola Road on the east, Hafenrichter Road on the south, Misty Ridge Lane on the west and Keating Drive on the north.
Allied Waste/Republic Services, the City’s waste hauler, made the route changes to provide better service by increasing collection efficiency and keeping costs down.
Residents of both areas were notified by Allied Waste/Republic Services of the date change in early June when notification stickers were placed on their garbage containers. For the last two weeks, the City’s waste hauler was collecting on both the new and old days as part of the transition process.
All residents whose garbage date are between Wednesday and Friday are reminded that collection will take place one day later due to the Fourth of July holiday next week. Garbage collection scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, July 2 and 3, will take place as normal.
The remainder of the City’s garbage collection schedule remains unchanged. Residents can find out their garbage collection day, school, zoning and election information by visiting the City’s website and clicking “My Place.”
