Downtown Aurora Architecture Tours

Aurorans have a long tradition of creating and commissioning architecturally and artistically significant buildings and sculptures. From the G.A.R.—a Civil War Memorial built circa 1877—to the awe-inspiring Swimming Stones/ Isacc2 built in 2001, Aurora is something to see and something of which we can be proud. Discover Aurora’s tradition of great architecture by checking out Aurora’s architectural tours!

Downtown Aurora can be thought of as an outdoor architectural museum. On display you will find everything from a building constructed using pegged joints and hand-hewn timbers to modern sculptures. You will also find a movie palace, impressive terra cotta detailing, and the works of locally and world renowned architects and artists: J.E. Minott, Eugene Malmer, George Grant Elmslie, Rapp and Rapp, Emory Seidel, and Christian Tobin.

Downtown Aurora has two fantastic tours; the Downtown Cell Phone Walking Tour and the Heritage Tour. Both tours are self-guided and are available for download. If you have any questions about downtown Aurora tours please call (630) 844-3670.
